英国牛津大学Nuffield临床神经科学系访问学者。
临床主要从事急慢性危重症患者早期康复(重症康复)工作,着重关注重症患者早期运动、呼吸、吞咽与胃肠康复,特别关注急性肌肉减少症的病理机制;努力推动标准化重症康复治疗师手册的制定;搭建重症作业治疗师线上论坛;在康复医学院开设音乐与健康选修课,推动音乐治疗在康复领域中的应用。
研究方向为脑损伤后意识障碍的神经机制,系统性研究意识障碍的诊断、评定、预后判断,建立了完整的与国际接轨的意识障碍诊疗体系,作为发起人之一联合国内多家科研院所成立了意识障碍联合研究中心(2018年),专注于意识障碍基础和临床研究。主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、广东省自然科学基金面上项目多项。
