博士毕业于香港大学。现为南方医科大学生物统计系教授、博导、器官衰竭防治国家重点实验室PI，香港大学荣誉副教授。国家药监局新药审评生物统计咨询专家，参与我国新药研发和审评20余项生物统计学相关指导原则的制订。中国医药教育协会医药统计专委会副主委、中国卫生信息学会卫生统计学教育委员会副主委、中华预防医学会生物统计分会常委、中华预防医学会健康测量与评价专业委员会常委、广东省生物统计学会副会长、广东省本科统计类教学指导委员会副主委。

副主编、参编教材11部，包括两部“十三五”规划教材，获得广东省科技进步一等奖和广东省教学成果二等奖各一项。主要从事临床试验中生物统计方法和应用研究、环境和传染病等领域大数据分析，主持国家自然科学基金五项，作为主要参与人参加国家自然科学基金重点项目两项，在New England Journal of Medicine、JAMA Network Open、Allergy 、Environment International等杂志发表SCI收录论文120余篇，其中三篇为ESI高被引论文，被引两万余次， H指数39。
